Athlete's Review: Emilvano Montorio on XCR from Cinelli Official on Vimeo.

“When I start working XCR it’s like starting to ride up the Mortirolo.”

Emilvano Montorio, Columbus head of production, explains what it takes to draw a set of XCR tubes.

The remarkable intrinsic mechanical characteristics of the bi-phasic martensitic steel of the XCR mean that it can be cold-drawn up to 14 times to produce a metallurgically flawless, ultralight, extremely stiff tube with extraordinary stiffness/weight and ultimate tensile strength/weight ratios (superior to both aluminum and titanium)
